Match Report by Jo Price
With Illness and injury playing havoc with availability, it was with some trepidation that we set out with only 10 players to play a highflying Chiswick side on their home ground.
Against their 15 the game was always going to be played out in our defensive half. and after the first few goals, became a game within a game, as we fought relentlessly to stem their attack.
The second half proved, particularly attritional as our opposition sought to increase their goal, tally. With all SG players now behind the ball we relentlessly blocked tackled and cleared until with some relief the final whistle blew. We may have felt a little battered and bruised but certainly not bowed .
A big shoutout to our defence who performed, consistently well throughout and under constant pressure.
Although the scoreline may seem excessive, we can be very proud that all 10 players gave everything and left it all out on the pitch in a game which could easily have finished in double digits.
MVP Jasmine for some great keeping!
We go again this week home to local rivals Hendon and Mill Hill – hopefully refreshed and with a full squad.
