The W2s began their season with a journey away to Chiswick with new coach Ronan.
A gloriously sunny day meant a sweaty day for hockey, but we started well with an excellent goal from Bethan in the first 5 mins.
Bethan then went on to hit the post, and it felt a little like a forcefield had set itself up around the goal, as we struggled to finish our chances.
Despite a very solid defensive performance, Miriam (our new GK on her debut) was called into action three times and pulled off 3 excellent saves to keep a clean sheet.
A second goal came from a beautiful short corner routine absolutely smashed into the backboard by Liv, who also deserves credit for remaining upright for a full game.
The game finished 2-0 with a very well managed second half and a strong team performance.
MOM went to Miriam for her stellar saves, with honourable mentions to virtually the whole team.
But Bobbie managed to clinch the DOD vote for failing to understand the difference between a zone and a song. Onwards to a home fixture next week.
