After 4 matches in the National League Southgate  Ladies 1st Team are settling well. They are currently sitting 5th in the division which is a great achievement after winning promotion last year. With a thumping win against Northampton and two hard fought draws against St. Albans and Cambridge they finally hit a wall against an extremely fit and powerful Hampstead and Westminster team. In spite of enormous pressure they went into the half time break 1-0 up after a fabulous team goal finished off by Elisa Filarmonico. Indeed they managed to take a 2-0 lead with yet another goal from Ladies Captain Alex Fenwick. However superior fitness and belief saw a resurgent Hampstead score 5 goals to win the game. Heads held high the team have a long journey next Saturday to high flying Harleston Magpies. Another test of resolve!!
