With the Ladies 1st team match cancelled due to a frozen pitch the only two Ladies matches played were the 2nd and 4th teams.
Terrific news to report from the Ladies 2 captain Emma;
Coming towards the end of the season the ladies 2s know how important it is to get some points on the board. We travelled to Milton Keynes with no great expectations, just that we had to play our best hockey and get some outcomes. The first goal came from a cracking run up the right hand side by MoM Ami, into Zoe who skilled past the keeper for Jess Hurley to tap in.
Unfortunately MK levelled and we were fighting again for 3 points we knew we could get.
Woody gave us hope with a perfect straight strike which was then disallowed (a questionable decision) but the glory came again for Woody when a second strike was allowed. We did it. We won. 3 points. Finally.
A big thank you to Helen for stepping up as our goalkeeper!
Ladies 4s clocked up an impressive 3-0 away win against a well-drilled BA Hayes 1st XI. It was beautiful passing hockey all the way as Liz Cookson fired us into the lead in the first few minutes before Cap’n Kathy won a P flick beautifully converted with ease by Ella Sherring. After half time Rhianna French showed exceptional composure 1v1 with the keeper to score a beauty and put the game beyond doubt. Georgie Crowe was our Woman of the Week for a resolute performance in defence and midfield. Well played 4s!
