And overall a great weekend for the Ladies section. The Ladies 2s continued with their improvement from last season with a feisty 5-3 away to Wycombe Ladies and are now up to 6th in the table.
Off the back of a loss the previous week the ladies 2s travelled to Wycombe focussed and determined for a win and it paid off. Goals from Emma Cox and Maria Goriup saw the first half end at 2-2. The ball was rolling and more followed from Sarah Williams, another from Emma Cox and a Milly Davies flick. Final whistle, 5-3.
MoM performance went to Bella Feltham who lead the defensive line in stepping hard and controlling the play.
The Ladies 3s got their first win of the season this weekend, scoring a smashing 3 goals to none against Winchmore hill and Enfield. Not even an incorrect postcode before the game could stop us from dominating on the pitch and seeing some of our best hockey together since the season has started! Our lovely Hannah K was MoM again this week, after she worked hard throughout and also put 2 of our 3 goals away! We are looking forward to building on this to continue the winning streak as the season progresses!
Ladies 4s played some lovely hockey once again to enjoy another away win; this time vs W Hampstead 3s. Sarah Tingle executed a perfect short corner strike late in the second half finally defeating a very able GK to claim the 1-0 victory. Skye MacLeod was a worthy Woman of the Week for her outstanding performance at right-mid and her delicious post-match pumpkin pie!
5s and 6s both drew 1-1.
The Ladies 1st Team came unstuck against a team of internationals at Wimbledon and were put to the sword by a superb side. Wimbledon fielded no less than 11 players with international honours. The National League boasts 3 absolutely top notch teams and our Ladies have played 3 of them in the first 4 matches.
