Southgate Hockey Club confirms that last week, Mike Williamson has decided to step down from coaching at the club before the second half of the season.
The Club greatly appreciates Mike’s hard work on behalf of the team and the Club navigating us through a period beset by Covid and squad changes. On behalf of the Club we would like to thank Mike for his coaching contribution to the M1s, the U18 boys and the Boys Performance Academy these past two seasons and we wish him all the best for the future.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision but, for a number of reasons, I feel it is right time to step aside. I wish the lads all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to following their progress” – Mike Williamson.
Assistant Coach – Thaddeus Rivett – will take on the role of Coach on an interim basis. Recruitment for a new M1 Head Coach for the 22/23 season will begin shortly.
