Our squad of 10 U16A girls, expertly trained and coached by Rob Schilling, (who kindly stepped in to help us for this indoor tournament), did us proud.

A closely fought match against Wimbledon sadly ended with 1-3 loss. They then overcame Hampstead & Westminster winning 5-1 and taking them through to the semi finals against Surbiton.

This was a thrilling match as they went 1-0 up first, before Surbiton scored to equalise. They showed excellent team play and passing, but luck didn’t go their way with a few shots hitting the post and one disallowed. Surbiton frustratingly just edged through with a goal giving them the 2-1 win. Southgate finished in third place after beating London Wayfarers 5-2 in the playoff.

An exciting day out in Wimbledon with a well-located pub directly opposite to keep the parents happy too.
