For the second year in a row the U16 girls headed to Lea Valley for the National finals. Saturday went fabulously with 2 wins out of 2. Jordan Homann (captain and ladies 1s player) scored against Beeston to make it a 1-0 victory, and again in the second game against Stourport. She was joined in the scoring by Milly Davies to lead them to a 2-1 victory over Stourport.
Despite a rousing start, the girls were left heartbroken on Sunday. In the blazing sunshine, Isca managed to win 1-0 and with 3 out of 4 teams ending on 6 points, it was down to goals scored. The girls demonstrated their absolute passion for hockey and their teammates, with parents, coaches and supporters all understanding how devastated they were not to make it through.
Even though there was no final for the girls this weekend, they demonstrated superb resilience, fighting spirit and above all, a true team spirit. Still not bad to make the national finals 2 years running and show they are one of the top junior sides in the country.
