Sessions Available
1- Sundays – this is our main club day, with all age groups training and playing games. We also have a weekday session on a Thursday for all age groups other than U18 Boys who train on Tuesdays, and U8s who only train on Sunday.
If we are unable to fit you into our main Sunday sessions, or Sundays dont fit in with your other activities we have other opportunities for you to play.2- Holiday Hockey Camps – we run day camps every holiday. For more information click here.
New season 2023-24
Preseason day for U14s and U16s is on Sunday 3rd September.
Full Sunday Junior training for all age groups starts again on Sunday 10 September 2023.
U14s & U16s weekday training starts the week after. Below are details of training dates and times for each age group, membership and training fees.

- Winter Term: 3 September – 10 December 2023
- Spring Term: 7 January – 24 March 2024
- Summer Term: May 12 – 7 July 2024 (To be confirmed)

Training Times
Southgate’s main junior hockey training takes place every Sunday morning. Training times on a Sunday are as follows:
- Under 8s and U10s (up to and including school year 5) – 9am – 10.30am
- Under 12 (school years 6 and 7) – 9.00am – 10.30am
- Under 14s (school years 8 & 9) – 10.45am – 12.15pm
- Under 16/U18 (school years 10 and above) – 12.30 – 2pm
U12s (school years 6&7)
- Sundays as above.
- Thursdays 6-7pm, 7 Sept – 28 March (to end April if team progresses in competitions)
U14s (school years 8&9)
- Sundays as above.
- Thursdays 6.30-8pm, 7 Sept – 28 March (to end April if team progresses in competitions)
U16 boys (school years 10 & 11)
- Sundays as above.
- Thursdays 7-8.30pm, unless invited to higher performance men’s training, 7 Sept – 28 March (to end Apr if team progresses in competitions)
U16/U18 Girls (school years 10 and above)
- Sundays as above.
- Thursdays 7-8.30pm, 7 Sept – 28 March (to end Apr if team progresses in competitions)

If you are over 13 and also playing regularly in the adult section please refer to the adult membership information which includes your junior activity.
If only playing juniors or only occasionally playing adult games you pay your fees to the junior section. Fees are paid annually or in two installments. This season, fees have been maintained at the same rates as 19-20. Their are sibling discounts of 10% for 2nd, 3rd and 4th children.
- Under 12s (up to and including school year 7) – £245, (siblings £225)
- Over 12s (school years 8 and above) – £300 (includes Sunday and weekday sessions) (Siblings £270.00)
Payment can be paid in one lump sum or in monthly installments as follows:
- U12s – £49 monthly, (Siblings £45)
- Over 12s – £64 monthly, (Siblings £54)

Question: What do I pay if I am playing regularly in an adult teams?
Pay your adult fees which will cover membership, adult & junior games and training.
Question: What do I pay if I am playing occasionally in adult teams?
Pay your junior membership and fees and individual match fees will be collected for adult games.
Equipment
We recommend everyone wears shin pads and a gum shield. We have these available to buy in our shop which is open on some Sundays, advertised in advance. Most players have their own sticks, but we have a supply for those that don’t. Players should wear comfortable sports gear and trainers, not studs.
