After a much-needed bye week. The mighty 4s were refreshed and back in action at the fortress that is Trent Park.
With a strong squad, we knew we had to continue the chase on those teams higher in the league table and continue our pursuit as only 6 points separated us (4th) from the top spot.

The game started in our usual fashion, with a sleepy start we found ourselves in 20mins 2-0 down! However, the defence led by Nigel Sellars and Aman Saram and our GK Akshay Palaniappan ensured that for the remainder of the game we had command of our D.
Our first goal came from a well-struck hit from Mitch Read after some slick passing and movement up the pitch from the left flanks by Alessandro Onano and Oscar Prior. With 2 mins signalled until halftime, some quick passing from midfielder Lucca Bilyard into our forward James Cubin split the defenders around him with a well-weighted pass into the D for Kabir Bowry to draw the foul for the umpire to award a penalty flick. Unfortunately despite sending the keeper the wrong way Kabir also sent the ball off target.

HT score 1-2

The second half was a more dominant performance having the extra subs paid off as we maintained the energy and intensity. Our combination of Joe KellyEthan Mahendran and Guy Garner down the right side provided us with another scoring opportunity for Mitch Read to claim his second.
As the game opened up Augus Burns and Noah Lavy controlled the midfield ensuring that we were distributing the ball to create attacking opportunities.

A well work PC routine found Guy Garner at the back post for a simple tap in. And with gaps opening up in the opposition defence Kabir Bowry managed to add 2 more goals. A lovely ariel down the left flank from Lucca Bilyard, allowed Kabir Bowry to find a nimble-footed Oscar Prior, lurking at the back post for a simple tap in.  Our final goal came from a brilliant exchange of passing from Noah Lavy and James Cubin who rifled in a shot from the top D just past the farpost (in my opinion) for Kabir Bowry to deflect past the keeper.

FT score 7-3

A great team win that showed character and determination after going down early. Many positives which we will look to build on for next Saturday against Wapping.
