A beautiful sunny day and Southgate travelled to Spencer, a lengthy journey with some logistical challenges. With that behind us we made a strong start on a very sticky pitch. Lorna ‘Dobby’ Cruikshank took an excellent first goal with a lovely bit of individual skill. Spencer secured a few corners but couldn’t get past Molly ‘the wall’ Smith. Some interplay up the pitch and Elisa ‘Filly’ Filarmonico stayed composed for the second goal. A welcome half time break away from the sun and some much needed hydration. Second half brought some interesting tackles, a few cards either side and some end to end play. New star forward Connie scored a fiery third goal with a lovely strike from top. 

Spencer clawed one back for the first conceded goal of the season. They were fired up and managed to find the net again. Southgate stayed composed and held on to the ball well resulting in a fourth goal by the now prolific goal scorer Connie Vickers, sealing the victory and silencing the home fans. Shout out the the mens 2s for the very welcome support on the sunny sideline. We play at home vs a so far successful Ipswich team on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
