A late starter to hockey, Paul joined Southgate through the ‘back to hockey’ scheme that operated post the 2012 London Olympics. Whilst he was never going to trouble the upper echelons of the club, several seasons playing in the lower end of East League hockey culminated in playing in goal until knee surgery brought that to an end and his coaching career started. Since 2019 he has coached junior (male and female) and senior (ladies) hockey at Southgate, and senior (male and female) at Broxbourne Hockey clubs.
