Bath (A)
1-3 Win
Match report by Lorna Cruickshank
The Women’s 1s travelled to Bath last weekend. It was a long way to go, but worth it in the end. Read on to find out more.
For most of the team, it all started at 9am at Paddington station. We boarded the Bath Express and everyone was in fantastic spirits, especially Emma Mac. Upon arrival, a mere 1hr 20mins later, we were blown away at the beauty of this city. However, there was no time for sightseeing. We had business to do. We hopped on the University bus and drove up a hill. A very large hill. Connie cycled up the hill. The very large hill.
At this point, I should probably talk about the hockey. We had gone to Bath to play hockey after all. And didn’t we do it well. Here are the facts:
+ we played good passing hockey
+ Ellie Rob scored a lovely goal (her first of the season)
-Bath scored a breakaway equaliser
+ Charlotte Childs scored a fabulous sliding deflection from a gorgeous Jess assist
+ I scored my first goal in many games (10/10 hit through from Ellie Hal & 10/10 1-touch assist from CC)
-I forgot how to celebrate goals
-but + for her, bath keeper did have a stormer and we were good at putting it at her feet in the first half
+ we won 3-1
+ 3 points
+ we’re safe from relegation
-Bath is far away
+ great naps on the train back
+ Jess is back and she got MOM
+ pizza match teas yom
We have one more game of hockey to go. We could finish 5th. We could also finish 6th, 7th or 8th.
All to play for.
Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Dobby x
