W4s Wow with Last-Minute Winner!
What. A. Game.
Two of our juniors, Isla and Ezge, stepped up for their first W4s appearances, and what a debut from both! Isla was relentless in her marking from start to finish, while Ezge’s confidence grew visibly throughout the match, a brilliant effort from our rising stars!
The game itself was a goal fest:
They struck early, but Vicky levelled it to make it 1-1. Another quick goal from them saw us 2-1 down before Michelle equalised again to make it 2-2. They edged ahead 3-2, but we fought back once more, with Alex smashing home a beauty, straight top left on a corner, no deflection’s needed! 3-3 and everything to play for.
The final five minutes were chaos! Scrappy, intense, end-to-end hockey with both sides desperate for the win. With barely a minute left, a moment of magic: Enrica played a superb ball out from the back line, perfectly picked up by George, who found herself one-on-one with the keeper. Calm, composed, clinical… goal! 4-3 to us, with seconds left on the clock!
Huge credit to our defence, who battled without subs and delivered their best performance yet, giving 120% all game!
