The Southgate Lions (also known as the Flagons) head down to Polo Farm on Sunday for a big quarter final in the EH Tier 1 Championship against old rivals Canterbury.

After a tense and thrilling game in the round of 16 against Harleston Magpies they head to Kent for a showdown game against one of the stand out teams of the cup so far.

Not only that but the Lions team includes current M1/W1 coaching due Huw Stevens and Andy Richardson who return to their alma mater where they plied their trades as captains and coaches. Canterbury come off the back of a 0-6 away win to Sevenoaks which saw Simon Buckingham score a hat-trick in a dominant performance.

For the Lions under captain Alastair Whatley the task is to play to their strengths with some new recruits and some familiar faces in the pride for a must win game to see them through to the semi finals.

Yet Polo farm can be an intimidating place to play- a great club and a vocal fanbase can be sure to make their presence felt on Sunday as the Lions look to turn the tables on their good friends.
